Welcome

This blog, in a rather plain format, offers readers reviews of texts and studies of all kinds pertaining to Togo. Given our own literary training, one will find more reviews of literary works and their criticism than reviews of, let’s say, historical studies. We will emphasize Togolese authors, but occasionally, we will review texts, literary in nature or not, by non-Togolese authors as well.
Why Togo? The answer is quite simple: this tiny West-African country is rarely spoken about — or even mentioned — in Africanist academic circles. In a way, in launching this blog, we want to help break this relative silence and to promote Togolese literary culture in particular.
